$90 billion bond sales planned by AOFM
Treasury bond issuance by the Australian government is expected to be around A$90 billion over 2016/17, the Australian Office of Financial Management advised yesterday.The AOFM said that after accounting for maturities of $21 billion, "this represents net issuance of $69 billion."It said it expected treasury bond tenders of around $2 billion each week during the remainder of 2015/16 and into 2016/17.A new 21 May 2028 treasury bond will be syndicated next week.New bond lines are also planned for December 2021 and November 2028, the AOFM said, while a further yield curve extension, which would not occur before October 2016, remains under consideration.Four tenders for the issue of treasury indexed bonds are also planned over the next year with a value of around $4 billion.
