Offshore, Westpac raised US$1.0 billion for two years in the US s144A market, at a spread of 30 basis points over Libor and the Australian branch of Rabobank made two more additions to outstanding EMTNs: adding A$50 million to its April 2014 line; and A$75 million to its August 2014 line; to take outstandings to A$625 million and A$450 million, respectively.

There were also reports of electricity distributor Powercor Australia undertaking a private placement in the US Reg D market. Powercor ('A-') reportedly placed US$100 million of five-year paper at 195 bps over US Treasuries and US$175 million of seven-year paper at 190 bps over.

Finally, Commonwealth Bank registered a US dollar Uridashi issue. The size of the issue was not specified but it will pay a coupon of 0.5 per cent for three years. Issuance is expected on November 12.
