A$2.1 billion raised in the US
ETSA Utilities last week raised US$500 million in the US traditional private placement market, Reuters reported. The funds were raised at an average spread of 275 bps over US Treasuries with maturities of five, seven and ten years.Macquarie Bank was the other big issuer in the US, raising US$1.6 billion in total under a government guarantee in the s144A market. Macquarie issued US$1.2 billion of fixed rate five-year bonds and US$100 million and US$200 million of two- and three-year FRNs priced at Libor plus 10 bps and 30 bps, respectively. Rabobank Australia also opened a new Australian dollar EMTN line, raising A$175 million for three years at mid-swaps plus 110 bps.
