Structured finance issuance also continued apace last week. The A$1.13 billion, prime RMBS issue from Citigroup Pty Ltd via the Securitised Australian Mortgage Trust 2014-1, takes prime RMBS issuance so far this year to A$24 billion.

This is the largest volume of prime RMBS issued since 2007, when $41.9 billion was issued (we are still a long way off a record), and exceeds last year's total of $23.4 billion.

Macquarie Leasing was back in the market with its fourth ABS deal for the year via SMART ABS Series 2014-1 Trust. The $500 million deal at launch was upsized to $1.25 billion, when priced on Friday.

The $1.07 billion of Class A notes with a weighted average life of two years were priced at 72 bps over 30-day bank bills. Pricing was not disclosed on the $31.2 million and $143.7 million of Class B and Seller notes retained by the issuer.
