The cash collected in aid for the Victorian fire appeals provides one measure of the public regard for bank brands.
As of Monday this was around:
- Commonwealth, $30 million.
- NAB, $17 million.
- Westpac, $13 million, and including St George.
- ANZ, $9 million.
- Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, $5 million.
All this money went direct to the Red Cross, through these banks either in-branch or through the bank's internet channel.
Banks also directly donated $1 million each, and some matched employee donations.
