Android Pay set for 2016 Australian start

Android Pay will arrive in Australia in the first half of 2016, Pali Bhat, director of product management for Android Pay at Google wrote in a blog post this week.

"We're working closely with many of Australia's major financial institutions—including ANZ, Westpac and many other banks," Google said.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, ING Direct, Macquarie Bank and credit union payments provider Cuscal will also be part of the first wave, the Financial Review reported.
