ANZ appoints new group treasurer to replace Moscati
ANZ has once again called on its experienced balance sheet manager Adrian Went to step into the group treasurer role from July - and this time it looks permanent.Went takes over the role from Rick Moscati who earlier this month was named as a defendant in the criminal proceedings brought against ANZ by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions for engaging in alleged cartel behaviour.Moscati had vacated the role before the DPP filed charges in the Federal Court on 5 June.He had been earmarked to take over as chief risk officer for the group's Australian banking business after Jennifer Evans left the role but has since stepped away from the appointment. An ANZ spokesman last night confirmed that Moscati is now on leave but remains a senior executive of the company and retained its full support. Went is currently responsible for credit and capital management in ANZ's Financial Institutions Group. His previous stint as acting group treasurer came about in January 2014, when Moscati stepped up to be ANZ Institutional Bank's interim chief financial officer following the departure of James Burdett. Went, who was then ANZ's head of balance sheet management, was slotted in as acting group treasurer, and remained there for over half a year, until Mary MacLeod was appointed CFO of ANZ's International and Institutional Banking division. He will report to group CFO Michelle Jablko.
