ANZ customers were unable to use point of sale facilities for much of yesterday, according to a report in the IT news site ZDNet. The report quoted an ANZ spokesman, who said: "ANZ has experienced a system outage that is impacting our ability to process some eftpos and credit card transactions."While branches and ATMs were not affected, retailers using ANZ point of sale systems could not put through debit or credit transactions.ANZ was last hit with a system failure in June, when ATM and branch operations went down. The spokesman said the two events were not related.
