ANZ executive suits Westpac
A second ANZ-linked executive is on the move to Westpac, to work in the latter's financial services business under the leadership of Brian Hartzer, the former Australian CEO of ANZ.David Lindberg will join Westpac as chief product officer, replacing Jim Tate.Lindberg served as ANZ's managing director of strategy and marketing in the second half of the 2000s, working at the bank during a period when ANZ achieved and maintained leadership in customer satisfaction rankings among the big banks. (ANZ is now ranked lowest among the Big Four banks in the latest Roy Morgan Research retail customer satisfaction survey and in Roy Morgan's business customer survey.)Lindberg moved to Commonwealth Bank as general manager of cards, payments and retail strategy in late 2010, a job where he helped shepherd a range of mobile payments initiatives to market.Lindberg will start work at Westpac in January.Jim Tate will take over the position of general manager of balance sheet management.John Harries, formerly ANZ's general manager of operations in Australia, began work at Westpac last week.
