ANZ resets IT leadership once more
ANZ turned to a member of its international technology and digital business advisory panel, established in 2015, to hire a new group executive, technology.Gerard Florian will join ANZ from Dimension Data where he was chief strategy officer for the firm's global cloud business unit.Scott Collary, the bank's chief information officer "will leave ANZ later this month," the bank said. Collary was CIO for Citigroup's North America consumer business and its global cards operations before joining ANZ.In September, ANZ outlined changes to management responsibility and reporting lines across its IT division, with the bank's managing director Shayne Elliott making clear he planned to take direct oversight of the work of the CIO, Collary, from later this year.Another change outlined last month was the planned departure "later this year" of Alistair Currie, the bank's chief operating officer. Currie, who in fact left the bank late last month, was said to be seeking a new post to "to continue his international banking career."Deputy chief executive Graham Hodges, ANZ said last month, will assume responsibility for group hubs, enterprise services and group property. ANZ's "hubs" include those in Bangalore, Manila and Chengdu.Craig Sims, at present COO for enterprise services, was elevated to a new role as group general manager operations and services, reporting to Hodges.Nigel Dobson, ANZ's general manager for transformation projects, assumed responsibility for wholesale digital strategy and payments transformation. Dobson reports to Maile Carnegie, the bank's group executive digital banking.Florian will start at ANZ in January 2017 and will be based in Sydney.
