ANZ reviews creative agencies
Less than a week after the sudden departure of the ANZ Bank's group manager for marketing, Mark Lollback, the bank has announced it will review its A$55 million creative agency advertising accounts. The accounts, currently in the hands of M&C Saatchi Melbourne for retail and DDB Melbourne for the credit card business, will be reviewed for benchmarking. Adnews reports that ANZ confirmed the review and that the agencies had been warned. A spokesperson stated: "We are in the preliminary stages of benchmarking our current agencies to ensure the best possible outcome for ANZ's brand across all the markets we operate in."The benchmarking review coincides with the bank's $100 million push to upgrade its internet banking system - in a bid to improve its online offering to retail customers. The two- to three-year online facelift has been planned for some time but has been stalled at the execution phase.Mitchell & Partners handles ANZ's media buying and planning. This arrangement won't be affected by the review.
