ANZ tries again on digital priorities
Digital transformation is a job a lot of senior executives at ANZ have had in their job title, and now it's taking on the meaning of "co-CEO, Australia" at the bank.A new management structure for ANZ's Australian business sees current group executives Mark Hand and Maile Carnegie "share responsibility for the financial performance of ANZ's business in Australia".Fred Ohlsson, who had been group executive for ANZ Australia since early 2016, stepped down late last year from his current role to take an extended unpaid career-break.Mark Hand has, since mid 2018, been group executive of the bank's Australian business and private banking unit.ANZ's actual CEO Shayne Elliott said in a statement: "It was clear that retaining a single governance and accountability structure is no longer suitable given the size and complexity of the challenges facing domestic banking in Australia."
