Apple Pay to launch in NZ this year
ANZ New Zealand is following the lead of its parent and will offer Apple Pay in NZ, with the launch of the service likely to be before the end of the year.Apple included an announcement that Apple Pay was available in Japan in its iPhone 7 launch last week. The fact that the service is also being launched in New Zealand and Russia slipped under the radar but the NZ business and IT press has run stories on it over the past few days.ANZ could not provide any details, although the ANZ logo appears on the new Apple Pay NZ web page alongside the Visa logo.American Express, which is Apple Pay's other provider in Australia, had no information about developments in New Zealand.Apple is also launching Apple Pay on the web, with the launch of its iOS10 operating system.
