Westpac Institutional Bank has appointed John Chauvel as managing director and head of debt capital markets. He will manage the business that arranges debt for Westpac's corporate and institutional customers. He was most recently the head of the financial institutions group, Australia, at ANZ. Before that he spent nine years with Société Générale in New York.
