APRA supervisor lands BIS role

Wayne Byres, the key executive at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority monitoring major banks and insurers, will leave the regulator to join the Bank for International Settlements.Byres will take over as secretary general of the Basel Committee, the primary policy body of the international banking regulator.APRA is yet to announce his replacement.
