ATM convenience fees less of a turn off

18 September 2009 4:30PM
The fifth month of the convenience fee regime for automatic teller machines produced a further, mild shift back towards the use of ATMs owned by an entity other than the customer's own bank, monthly data from the RBA shows.

Bank customers used another ATM owner's device for 40.4 per cent of withdrawals in July 2009, up from 39.2 per cent in June and 38.2 per cent in the first month of the new pricing method in March.
