Australian finance professionals gain recognition in Hong Kong
The Financial Services Institute of Australasia and the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute have agreed to recognise skills portability for finance professionals in Hong Kong and Australia.Finsia chief executive Russell Thomas said in a statement that members of the two institutes would benefit from mutual recognition of their professional standing, as well as gaining access to career development services, education programs and professional networks.HKSI Institute chief executive Edith Ngan Chan said the institute recognised the growing number of professionals from Australasia working in Hong Kong and welcomed collaboration with Finsia.Thomas said dual professional recognition would aid the flow of skills and talent between the two markets.The agreement was signed in Singapore last week at the annual general meeting of the Asian Securities and Investments Federation, which is the peak body for securities institutes in the region.
