Aviva song sheet 23 June 2009 4:30PM Ian Rogers Glad to be out of here was one Aviva theme of the day.Aviva has an Asian investment strategy in China (going well) and India (going okay) and Australia just doesn't rate. The sold businesses are declining ones. They face real regulatory risk thanks to poor industry performance and clumsy service models.Aviva are thus leaving a slab of investment services to one of the incumbents. In investment services, as in banking, the dominant suppliers are happy to consolidate as businesses reach the market. The twist for Aviva is that the value paid by NAB means Aviva will book a loss of up to $140 million on the sale of its Australian life and wealth management businesses to National Australia Bank.
