Bendigo franchises branch out

The community banking franchises of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank are looking at investing in non-bank activities, the bank's managing director, Rob Hunt, told the Trans Tasman business circle lunch yesterday. Business Spectator reported on some of Hunt's comments.

One option is child care. A number of community banking franchises of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank are looking into buying local child care centres from the insolvent operator ABC Learning, the Financial Review reported.

Only a couple of franchises, which the newspaper did not name, are looking into this option at this stage.
