It's a MasterCard-only rule for any interested customers of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank as their bank belatedly makes Apple Pay available to customers. Apple Pay became an option for the bank's customers on Tuesday last week, though communications on this step were muted. Fourteen MasterCard products are supported by Bendigo, but neither Visa cards nor eftpos.The bank has a long record of promoting the Visa brand, being the first to promote Visa Debit back in 1982. Bendigo last year was one of four banks that tried and failed to win clearance from the ACCC to collectively negotiate with Apple over fees and access to Apple IP. The ACCC threw this out earlier this year, with Bendigo now the first of those four banks to implement Apple Pay.
