Bonus starved bankers go job hunting
The brains of the banking industry think alike on one key question, with optimism brimming toward pay outcomes among banking and financial services professionals.
Three quarters, or 76 per cent, expect to receive a salary increase in 2016, according to a survey by recruitment firm Robert Walters.Fifty eight per cent are expecting to receive a bonus payment. Sixty eight per cent of survey respondents told Robert Walters they had received a salary increase this year and 48 per cent had received a bonus. Robert Walters associate director, Henry Smith, said in a media release: "The expectation of a salary increase for banking and financial services professionals is particularly pronounced in NSW where nearly nine in ten are anticipating an increase."Tellingly, plenty of banking and financial services professionals are looking to move jobs, perhaps as an aid to the climb in income they expect.Robert Walters said 72 per cent were looking to change jobs compared to 60 per cent in 2014.
