Some investment bankers at Macquarie may have to wait for corporate clients to pay their term debt, mezzanine debt or equity before becoming eligible for bonus payments.The Street Talk column in the Australian Financial Review reports that bonuses in connection with deals that require "balance sheet support" will be paid only once the balance sheet exposure has been cleared.Even then the bonuses may only be paid in long-term equity.
