Brief: ANZ to accept UnionPay cards

ANZ announced that it would accept China UnionPay cards at its merchant terminals and ATMs throughout the region. UnionPay is the biggest card network in China and Chinese tourists are a growing part of the travel market. Under the arrangement, UnionPay cards will be accepted at ANZ merchant terminals and ATMs by 2015. The bank claimed it would be the first Australian bank to accept contactless and EMV enabled UnionPay cards.
