Brief: Chalmers replaces Ripoll in Shadow Cabinet

Jim Chalmers, the Labor member for the federal seat of Rankin in the south-west of Brisbane, has been appointed to the Shadow Ministry as the Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation. Chalmers replaces Bernie Ripoll, who is not contesting the next election. Chalmers, who served as chief of staff to former Treasurer Wayne Swan, will also have portfolio responsibility for trade, investment and productivity, and sport.
