Brief: Dover financial planning boss warms up for Royal Commission
Terry McMaster, responsible manager and owner of financial planning outfit, Dover, is due to give evidence at the banking royal commission in Melbourne today. McMaster has about 400 planners authorised to operate under the Dover financial services licence, and has previously made strong comments criticising the regulator about banning planners and naming those planners, citing Common Law respect for the right of an individual to earn a living. This philosophy has led the SMH to suggest that Dover is "too often" the place advisers go when they've been let go from one of the big banks.
