Brief: Macbank declines tax exile option
The threat of a bank tax has not driven Macquarie Bank away - well not yet. The AFR has noted that Macquarie Group CEO Nicholas Moore made it clear to the Senate Economics Committee on Friday that he was not about to relocate his HQ to a more attractively taxed domicile. "But it hasn't always been the case and Moore made no commitments about the future. Ten years ago under former CEO Allan Moss there were considerable discussions about where Macquarie should be headquartered," the AFR reminded readers.
