Leigh Clapham, an independent director of eftpos, has been unanimously elected as the new chairman of the board. In announcing the appointment, eftpos stated he has "a mission to guide the business to increase customer focus and take eftpos into new areas of the payments value chain".  Clapham previously ran Mastercard in Australia and New Zealand, and held several senior roles in Mastercard across Europe. He is an experienced board director currently serving as non-executive director with Optal Limited, an unlisted public company specialising in B2B payments. He replaces former chairman, Vickki McFadden, who stepped down from the role in March 2018.
