Brief: Rabobank under review?
Neither the Reserve Bank of New Zealand nor Rabobank NZ will confirm a report by interest.co.nz that the bank is the subject of an independent review sought by the banking regulator. The website claims the review centres on the independence (or lack of it) that Rabobank NZ has from sister bank Rabobank Australia and Dutch parent Cooperative Rabobank U.A. It says it has been told key decisions are being made by the Australian executive team which features one New Zealand employee (the NZ CEO) who effectively reports to the regional CEO in Australia, and that it has just one IT person in NZ and little to no data hosting within the country.
