Brief: Suncorp adds Tanner to team
Suncorp has appointed former federal finance minister Lindsay Tanner as a non-executive director. Tanner, who was a key figure in the Rudd and Gillard governments, will, in January, take up one of the board roles vacated by recently retired directors Bill Bartlett and Ewould Kulk. Since leaving parliament more than seven years ago, former lawyer Tanner "has built a diverse portfolio of business roles, including involvement in mergers and acquisitions, advisory, fintech and cyber security businesses," said Suncorp's press release. He also chairs AFL's Essendon Bombers.
