Brief: Tyro to partner with Alipay

Tyro is set to become the first Australian bank offering an all-in-one eftpos solution for Alipay users, reports The Australian. The partnership between Tyro and China's Alipay (the world's largest online payment platform) is expected to go live from the middle of 2019, improving Australian business access to the Chinese visitor market.  Across the Tasman in New Zealand, NAB subsidiary BNZ was one of the first southern hemisphere banks to embed the Alipay platform in its merchant terminal network.
