Brief: Veda investigated over sale of personal information
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is investigating credit bureau Veda's practice of selling personal financial information to marketing companies, the ABC reports. The OAIC confirmed that it opened an investigation into a Veda subsidiary Inivio last month, after a complaint by a Victorian woman. Inivio is a marketing services company and the OAIC is investigating whether it sold information that is protected under the Privacy Act.
