Briefs: ANZ HR boss quits, consumer sentiment rises
ANZ's chief human resources officer of the past nine years, Susie Babani, has resigned and will leave the bank at the end of November. The bank announced yesterday that it was conducting an internal and external search for her replacement. ANZ chief executive Shayne Elliott said in a statement that Babani had been a champion for diversity and inclusion and she had played a key role in identifying talent as ANZ expanded throughout Asia Pacific. The Westpac Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment rose 1.1 percentage points to 102.4 in October. The index has been stable over the past six months, moving in a tight four per cent range. Consumers have a very positive outlook for the economy over the next 12 months.
