Briefs: Bank capital review date, AFM rebrands to EMoney
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will release its final decisions following its review of banks' regulatory capital requirements on December 5. A cost-benefit analysis will also be released at that time. Implementation of any new capital rules would start from April 2020 but with a lengthy transition period. Banks are waiting to see if the RBNZ has backed away at all from its proposed significant increases to the amount and quality of capital. Gold Coast mortgage manager AFM has been rebranded to EMoney Pty Ltd. The name change was announced to mortgage brokers in a notification this week. EMoney is part of the National Mortgage Company(NMC), a Queensland-based mortgage group owned by Steve Dover.
