Briefs: Bank of Baroda to open in NZ

Bank of Baroda plans to open a registered branch in New Zealand alongside its incorporated banking entity. This began trading in 2009. The Hindu, India's national newspaper, reported on the bank's plans yesterday. Bank of Baroda told the newspaper that it had received approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as foreign bank branch in Australia, but said it was still waiting for a banking licence from Australian authorities.
