Briefs: Bankwest doesn't ditch all ATM fees, RBNZ expected to hold
CBA subsidiary bank Bankwest is dumping its ATM fees, two days after CBA and its Big Four rivals made the call on the weekend - and the cut won't apply to all Bankwest machines, news.com.au reports. The bank said it would remove the ATM charge for customers using their 300 or so Bankwest-branded ATMs, but it would not include the 650-strong fleet of Bankwest ATMs located inside 7-Eleven stores. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is expected to hold its Official Cash Rate at its record low of 1.75 per cent for a sixth consecutive decision on Thursday morning. Consumer Price Index inflation was 1.7 per cent in the year to June, which was below the 2.0 per cent midpoint of the Reserve Bank's 1-3 per cent target band. New interim Governor Grant Spencer, who takes over from outgoing one-term Governor Grant Wheeler, is expected to leave the outlook in neutral with little chance of any move in the OCR until late 2018 at the earliest.
