Briefs: Card rewards out of favour
Consumers would prefer a discount when they shop or some other form of instant reward to reward points. ING Direct asked people about their reward preferences and found that 56 per cent would rather have an immediate discount on their purchases, 19 percent like reward points, 13 per cent like vouchers and eight per cent want points for flights. Twenty-six per cent said it takes too long to accrue points and 15 per cent said they had never redeemed their points.
