Select Encompass Credit Union will, from today, change its name to Endeavour Mutual Bank. The bank is one of almost a score of ADIs to take up mutual bank branding. Macquarie Bank is claiming first mover status in matching up to the Australian Government's push towards Open Banking by allowing customer data feeds to be shared with personal financial management app Pocketbook, Finextra reports. Pocketbook was acquired by ASX-listed consumer finance and payments player Zip in 2016. Its connection to Macquarie Bank's recently launched Open Banking platform coincides with the Federal Government's focus on establishing open API standards to increase competition and provide consumers with the ability to securely share their data with third party providers.
