Kyckr, an Australian listed regtech with big ideas of expansion, has appointed Benny Higgins, current CEO of Tesco Bank as its chairman, effective 1 March 2018. Under Higgins' leadership, Tesco Bank (the retail bank arm of UK's biggest supermarket chain), has turned into a major player in UK banking - servicing over 8.1 million customers. Kyckr has a footprint in Sydney, Dublin and Bangkok, and is valued at AUD$17 million. The company said via an ASX media release that "Higgins will be instrumental in driving Kyckr's expansion plans into continental Europe and North America and it comes at a time when global regulatory and compliance obligations continue to increase in importance."   Legislation to allow prospective first home buyers to save for a deposit through the First Home Super Saver Scheme passed the Senate yesterday, thanks to broad support from the crossbench. Through the FHSSS, individuals can contribute up to A$30,000 (up to $15,000 a year within existing caps) into superannuation. This means an eligible couple could contribute up to $60,000, supercharging their deposit savings. Most first home buyers will be able to accelerate their savings by at least 30 per cent using the Scheme. S&P has assigned preliminary ratings to floating rate notes backed by commercial mortgages originated by Think Tank. The preliminary ratings were assigned to seven of the nine classes of notes, totalling A$300 million. Marketing of the notes, to be issued by BNY Trust Co. of Australia Ltd as trustee of Think Tank Series 2017-1 Trust, started yesterday. The collateral pool, consists of loans to commercial borrowers were originated by Think Tank Group Pty Ltd, secured by first-registered mortgages over Australian commercial or residential properties. The top rated tranches, the A1 and A2 notes (seeking $180 million and $34.2 million, respectively) are both rated AAA(sf), with the $23.1 million B notes rated AA (sf) and the $23.7 million C notes rated A (sf).
