Briefs: IMB Bank appoints new chair, DirectMoney appoints new CEO

30 September 2016 3:14PM
The IMB Bank board has elected Noel Cornish as its new chair, replacing the retiring Michael Cole. Cornish has been a non-executive director of IMB Bank since 2010 and was appointed deputy chair last year. He is the deputy chancellor of the University of Wollongong and the former chief executive of BlueScope Ltd's Australian and New Zealand steel manufacturing businesses. He is the former chair of Hunter United Credit Union. The board also appointed Cathy Aston as a non-executive director. She has held executive positions at Telstra. Marketplace lender DirectMoney has appointed Anthony Nantes as its chief executive. Current CEO Peter Beaumont will become the company's chief operating officer. Nantes was previously the chief operating officer at another fintech lender, Prospa. He has also held executive roles in the IT industry. DirectMoney has appointed a new chair and a new CEO in the past two months.
