Briefs: Liddy to chair Collection House, BOQ reviews franchise commissions
Former Bank of Queensland chief executive David Liddy has been appointed as a non-executive director and chairman of the receivables management company Collecton House. He replaces John Pearce, who will retire at the company's next annual general meeting. Bank of Queensland may reduce commissions paid to operators of its franchised branches that comprise more than three quarters of its retail network, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The newspaper cited briefings by BOQ management with fund managers yesterday. BOQ CEO Stuart Grimshaw did refer to a review of commissions in an investor briefing on Monday but did not amplify those comments. BOQ last revised commissions three years ago to prioritise deposit gathering over loan origination.
