Briefs: Strike force nabs top Nomad, repossession orders up
The national president of the Nomads bikie gang has been charged as part of a multi-million-dollar property fraud investigation, Fairfax Media reports. Police arrested Sleiman Tajjour, 35, in connection with possession of a vehicle allegedy sold without the owner's consent. Strike Force Maraar, a detective unit investigating alleged vehicle and mortgage fraud across Sydney connected to the Nomads, made the arrest. Courts Administration Authority records in South Australia show banks sought 403 repossession orders last financial year, up 323 in 12 months but down from 469 orders in 2012/13. The Advertiser reports CBA secured 113 orders to evict home and property owners last financial year — almost double its nearest rival ANZ's.
