Briefs: Suncorp life insurance bid, ASIC bans broker
Dai-ichi Life may be a front runner to buy Suncorp's life insurance unit. Dai-ichi "which has wavered in the process several times over the past year, submitted a workable final offer pegged at about $800 million," the Financial Review reports. Also rans include Nippon, Fosun International and American International Group. ASIC says Perth man Peter Lachlan McDonald "has been sentenced in the Perth Magistrates' Court to 21 months' imprisonment following an investigation by ASIC into his brokering of motor vehicle finance contracts while an employee of Get Approved Finance."
