Briefs: TAS appoints chair, GE ducks SIFI status
TAS, a shared services IT company with strong links to the mutual banking sector, said it had appointed Neil Gamble as chair. Gamble is the former CEO of Solution 6, Star City, Australis Media and Wormald. The US Financial Stability Oversight Council resolved to remove its label on GE Capital as a "systemically important financial institution, Dow Jones reports. The SIFI label carries more stringent oversight. GE said about a year ago, in April 2015, that it would seek to have its status changed, as it decided to pivot away from financial services and sell off most of GE Capital.
