Briefs: YBR chews up its cash, Mortgage Choice appoints new head of distribution, NAB and Visa partn
Yellow Brick Road ate heavily into its cash holdings in the September quarter, as it started the 2015/16 financial year with a big media and marketing campaign. The loss-making company's cash holdings fell 21 per cent to A$8.5 million over the quarter. The company said in a statement that loan settlements in the quarter were up 42 per cent, compared with the same period last year. Gross receipts were up 13 per cent but net receipts fell one per cent. Mortgage Choice has appointed Neill Rose-Innes to the role of general manager of distribution. Rose-Innes moves from his current role at Mortgage Choice, where he has been chief information officer for the past eight years. The company's chief executive, John Flavell, said in a statement that Rose-Innes's priority would be to help the company grow its franchise network and improve the sales performance of the network. National Australia Bank and Visa have signed a ten-year card agreement, according to media reports. NAB will continue to support MasterCard cards on issue but all new cards will be Visa cards. NAB's American Express companion card deal is not affected.
