Graeme Samuel, chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, warned that Cabcharge may find itself in difficulty with the regulator once more over taxi payments and related issues.
Samuel told the
Sydney Morning Herald that a lack of contrition from Cabcharge executive chair, Reg Kermode, and the company's general counsel, Sharon Doyle, ''disappointed'' him.
''Frankly, I would be saying to the board of directors: 'Assert your corporate governance control over these two leading executives because, if not, the company is going to find itself in strife again','' Samuel told the newspaper.
Samuel told the SMH that a statement from Cabcharge to the ASX on Friday in relation to the settlement of a long-running dispute tried to portray the ACCC as having sacrificed more than Cabcharge to settle the case.
