CAPE and Community First unite
CAPE Credit Union will merge with Community First Credit Union, the latter has announced at its website.Sutherland Shire-based CAPE is one of the minnows of the mutual ADI sector, with around A$75 million in assets. Community First, with $950 million in assets at its last balance date, will thus join the ranks of mutuals with in excess of $1 billion in assets, assuming the merger proceeds in late 2018.The merger "will see the two credit unions working together to create efficiencies through eliminating dual costs and delivering improved services, products and technology," CFCU said. Community First, based in Auburn, merged most recently with Northern Beaches Credit Union, with shopfronts of the latter only now being rebranded, two years after that merger.
