CBA staff to keep bonuses paid "in error"
CBA has withdrawn a request for around 500 staff to repay performance bonuses to the bank after they were awarded "in error" earlier this year.Following a campaign by Finance Sector Union the bank will allow staff to keep bonuses worth an aggregate $500,000 even though they were paid by mistake.FSU assistant national secretary Nathan Rees said many of the staff who received the additional payments were on annual salaries of around $60,000 and had already spent the money."Under previous regimes at the CBA, the Finance Sector Union would have had to drag the CBA kicking and screaming to the Fair Work Commission to get a result like this.""Under Matt Comyn's leadership, this result for CBA workers would suggest the Commonwealth is becoming a 'simpler and better' bank, and this is a good, sensible result."
