Commonwealth still lagging on satisfaction
Despite a strong rise in its customer satisfaction score in 2007, Commonwealth was not able to overtake any of its rivals among the big five banks.
According to the latest monthly Roy Morgan Research consumer banking customer satisfaction report, published yesterday, Commonwealth improved its rating by four percentage points over the 12 months to December.
Among the big banks St George matched this performance, ANZ's score was up by 3.9 percentage points, Westpac was up 2.9 and NAB 1.8.
Commonwealth finished the year with 68.5 per cent of customers saying they were satisfied with the bank.
St George leads the field with a score of 78.2, followed by ANZ with 78 per cent, Westpac with 71.9 per cent and NAB with 68.5 per cent.
Overall, the bank with the highest satisfaction remains Bendigo, with a score of 88.6 per cent. The bank that improved the most in 2007 was BankWest with a 4.2 percentage point increase.
