Coomer joins Firstfolio

Mortgage company Firstfolio has appointed experienced IT executive Michael Coomer as a consultant to the business. Coomer will advise on operations, technology and strategy, the company said, in a statement yesterday.During a 30-year career Coomer has worked in management roles at IBM Global Services, Rockwell International and Ansett Transport Industries, where he was chief information officer.From 1994 to 2000 he was chief information officer at National Australia Bank. He then moved to Westpac, where he was group executive for business and technology solutions and services.In 2007 he joined EDS, but left a year later when the company merged with Hewlett-Packard. He has been running his own consultancy since then.Firstfolio is going through an overhaul of its board and management. Eric Dodd was appointed chairman in April, and former Commonwealth Bank institutional banking executive David Hancock was appointed chief executive a month later.
