Cuscal and eftpos to start offering Apple Pay

07 February 2018 4:56PM
Customers at six Cuscal-sponsored customer owned financial institutions have been given the choice of using Apple Pay with their eftpos-only cards. Most of the six mutuals involved were among the group of 31 Cuscal clients first offered Apple Pay capability in November 2016. Those now adding Apple Pay to their customers' eftpos cards are: CUA, FCCS, Nexus Mutual, People's Choice Credit Union, SCU More Generous Banking, and Woolworths Employee's Credit Union.Paul Jennings, eftpos acting CEO, said the arrangement with Cuscal would allow eligible cardholders to make eftpos purchases on Apple devices using their own money, processed in real time."Today marks another significant milestone for eftpos as we enable more consumers with an iPhone or Apple Watch to choose eftpos to make a transaction from their CHQ or SAV account," Jennings said.(NOTE: Unsurprisingly) there is a strong overlap between this list of financial institution brands and those connecting to the NPP via Cuscal at launch, whenever that might happen.
